A Safe.Cab Campaign

Safer journeys for women and girls.

Drivers see more of public life than almost anyone. Safe.Cab gives licensed taxi and private hire drivers ongoing VAWG intelligence and direct reporting tools through Omni, framed by the Government's Freedom from Violence and Abuse action plan.

What Safe.Cab VAWG is

Trained drivers, connected to local police.

Drivers in the licensed trade are uniquely positioned. They see late-night journeys home. They pick up passengers from contexts almost no one else witnesses. They are often the only adult outside the situation who knows it is happening.

Every licensed driver completes safeguarding training as part of their licence. But that training is delivered once, often years ago. Nothing nationally consistent provides ongoing VAWG intelligence, current local alerts, or direct reporting tools to the trained driver workforce.

Safe.Cab fills that gap. Through Omni, accredited drivers receive weekly VAWG briefings from local police, guidance on emerging tactics and warning signs, plus quick-access reporting to 999, 101, and the online portal.
