Safe.Cab is a national safeguarding programme for licensed taxi and private hire drivers. It runs as a series of campaign topics, each focused on a specific safeguarding gap. Accredited drivers receive ongoing intelligence, guidance, and reporting tools through Omni, the Mobility Exchange app built for the licensed trade.
Every licensed driver completes safeguarding training as part of their licence. Safe.Cab is what happens after. The day-to-day support that keeps trained drivers operationally effective, year after year.
As required by the Statutory Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Standards, through their council or operator. The foundation every licensed driver works from.
Each authority chooses which campaign topics matter most locally: VAWG, SEND home-to-school transport, disability awareness, or others as they launch.
Topic-specific intelligence, current alerts and news, plus quick-access reporting tools, delivered straight to drivers' phones.
Councils choose which campaigns to back. Drivers carry the support with them on every shift.
Drivers see more of public life than almost anyone. Safe.Cab gives them ongoing VAWG intelligence and direct reporting tools, framed by the Government's Freedom from Violence and Abuse action plan.
